  • A few hours preceding the death of a close friend (for whom I am Executrix), I received an email from the hospice with a 2-page list of funeral homes attached. I don't live in the area and had no idea how to choose among them, but because my friend had specified cremation, the name Northern Virginia Cremation Society caught my attention. As soon as I called, I was sure I had made the right decision. Despite the fact that it was by then late at night, my call was handled immediately, transport was arranged, and I knew that I was in competent, professional, and compassionate hands. Each of my subsequent interactions with April Felkins at the Society's serene and easily accessible headquarters in the center of Alexandria served to reinforce my first impression. The dread with which I had anticipated making final arrangements was completely erased, and I cannot express my gratitude strongly enough!

  • I handed a list of three hospice recommended crematories to my daughter who made phone inquiries. She selected this one because April was the most organized. The call was placed after the death and the two men who came to retrieve the remains treated them with gentle care and dignity. We met with April the next week and she was helpful, respectful and interested in our family. The prices were very reasonable and we weren't rushed or pressured in our decision making. I highly recommend them.

  • We had a traumatic experience due to the unusual circumstances of our fathers death. A friend of mine called and explained the details to April F. April made taking care of the details so much easier for me.I don't know how someone could handle a job where she sees so much sadness with such compassion and kindness. She was also helpful in answering the many questions I had and fantastic about keeping me informed each step of the way.. I hope they realize what an asset she is. I also spoke with another employee and the receptionist and they were both very kind, professional and helpful as well. My overall experience couldn't have been any better during such a difficult time.

  • My son passed in Washington and I live in central Missouri. I inquired of several people he worked with on cremation providers. None mentioned NVBCS. My nephew who lives in the local area suggested NVBGS and I contacted them. By phone and fax we arranged to have him picked up, prepared and cremated. Coreen handled all the arrangements, details and final disposition to my nephew. My sons sister is going to DC to pick him up and return him to Missouri. I cannot begin to thank Coreen, Northern Va, Burial and Cremation Society for their thoughtful help, sympathy, empathy and service at this time. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any family in need of this service.

  • I can't recommend Northern Virginia Cremation enough. Professional, and incredibly thoughtful, they were wonderful to work with despite the sad occasion that brought us to them. Over the course of the past year, over two separate occasions, Nova Cremation has been there to care for our family and provide a memorable tribute to our loved ones that we will always remember. To every one we worked with, from the people that came to our home to those that we met on-site, thank you. I give you all of the stars.
