  • I went to church here for a year before moving out of state. There are three LDS congregations that meet here, and the one I attended, Alexandria 3rd Ward, was a smaller one because of its geographical boundaries. It was warm, friendly, and accepting, and we loved being part of it. Always thought-provoking Sunday School discussions, good talks in Sacrament meeting, and fun activities during the week. And the drive out from Old Town is a scenic treat every week.

  • This is a faith community that bands together and helps one another out. There is no paid clergy, so everyone pitches in to watch over the flock.

  • A beautiful building in a beautiful location. Loved attending church here right on the water in such an inspiring part of the country. Even though I didn't know anyone, many people came up and introduced themselves to me and made me feel very included. We had many great, uplifting conversations between church on Sundays and fun activities throughout the week. If you're looking for more meaning to your life and a great group of people to be around, come to this church! Visitors are always welcome and meetings start usually around 9, 11 and 1.

  • One of the most scenic chapel locations in all of the LDS Church. The colonial-style building, originally dedicated by Ezra Taft Benson, sits on a portion of the original Mount Vernon estate and overlooks the Potomac River. George Washington, when surveying his own land, wrote of this location that it was a "beautiful home site." Although only set back from the river by a few hundred feet, the chapel can be difficult to find due to the mature trees around it and the lack of any signs on the George Washington Parkway (they are forbidden by the National Park Service). To get to it, turn on Lucia Lane, which looks like a driveway for the Cedar Knoll Inn (a restaurant) and drive to the back of the parking lot where the chapel driveway will emerge on the right.
